All these small ideas that I am a man or a woman, sick or healthy, strong or weak, or that I hate or love or have little power, are but hallucinations. Stand up then. Know that every thought and word that weakens you in this world is the only evil that exists. Whatever makes us weak and fearful is the only evil that should be shunned. Stand as a rock; you are the Infinite Spirit. Say, “I am Existence Absolute, Bliss Absolute, Knowledge Absolute, I am He,” and like a lion breaking its cage, break your chains and be free forever.
Swami Vivekananda, Pathways to Joy,

We are meant to enjoy life. The stuff of which we are made is, as Swami Vivekananda says, Bliss Absolute. When we step beyond our thinking, beyond our small ideas of self, happiness – joy – is our reality.
This is not something that has to be built. It is not something that has to be discovered. It is something to be uncovered. Something to be insisted upon. Something simply to be realized as the Truth of what we are.
self-realization – The making, by an exertion of the will, that actual which lies dormant… within the depths of the soul.

What I am is eternal. What I am is Divine. What I am is powerful beyond belief. What I am is precisely the opposite of what my small self identity tells me I am. What can I do to know this?
‘Stand as a rock; you are the Infinite Spirit. Say, “I am Existence Absolute, Bliss Absolute, Knowledge Absolute, I am He,” and like a lion breaking its cage, break your chains and be free forever.’
Today, whenever I feel myself beset by fear or self-loathing, I will insist on making actual, by an exertion of the will, my identification with the Truth of Being that lies here within me.
