I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in.
George Washington Carver
I believe that there is a subtle magnetism in Nature, which, if we unconsciously yield to it, will direct us aright.
Henry David Thoreau
All day, every day, we are receiving information from nature. Cues and clues that add up to a knowingness within. When we choose present moment awareness rather than our habitual speculating mind, this is the payoff. Direct communication with the laws of nature. And as we pay attention in this simple way, we discover a great thing: nature does not speak in code. It wants us to know. As we make ourselves available to it, nature is letting us in on the secret.
And the secret is: ‘there are no secrets.’
We are all individual expressions of nature itself. Nature wants nothing for us or from us but to evolve. Hence, nature is giving us cues, continually, as to the direction of evolution. All we need do is to pay attention and allow ourselves to be led. There is no secret passageway, no secret handshake, no secret elixir. There is in each moment, always, one step to take, one choice to make that is most in the direction of evolution, and paying attention to nature gives us the ability to discern that one most evolutionary step, the next right action for us to take.
In each moment we have the choice of falling into speculation and trying to ‘figure things out’–stay safe, get what we need, keep from losing what we have–or being in present moment awareness. Being here. Feeling our oneness with nature and taking in the information that oneness would have us know.
Today I will stay out of speculation. I will stay present to the voice of nature. When I find myself falling into speculation, I simply will choose to be present. And again. And again.
