The World I Live In – March 14 2019

The World I Live In
I have refused to live
locked in the orderly house of
           reasons and proofs.
The world I live in and believe in
is wider than that. And anyway,
           what’s wrong with Maybe?
You wouldn’t believe what once or
twice I have seen. I’ll just
           tell you this:
only if there are angels in your head will you
           ever, possibly, see one.

Like quantum physics, the Veda says that the universe is affected by observation and the expectation of the observer. That the universe, indeed, is ‘observer dependent.’
When I live in my thinking and the ever-repeating thoughts of ‘what’s wrong with me,’ and/or ‘what’s wrong with the world,’ I continue to call into my life the experience of what has gone before. Even when something new occurs, through my thinking I will see it just as more of the same and will continue to build a life based solely on my history.
If, on the other hand, I can assume something finer, something of the spirit, of light, of love; if I can assume that I am worthy of life and that life is worth living; if I can live in the expectation of a steady evolution of spirit, working through me from the darkness of fear and despair to the heights of enlightenment and beyond, doesn’t it follow that my experience of life might change?
Today I will expect the world to offer me opportunities to love, to succeed, to create, to fly, and I will assume that I am exactly the person to fulfill these roles in the tapestry of my day. Today I will see an angel.
