12 Dec The Truth of Life – December 13 2019
…others said the first music made with a string was the ping of a hunter’s bow, the sound so disturbing to the quiet he was trying to keep while tracking his prey, and so surprisingly sweet, that the hunter put down the bow, unable to use it to kill another living thing.
Sarah Sentilles, Draw Your Weapons
Can I imagine today a sound so sweet that it wakes me to the Truth of life?
What is the Truth of life?
That there is no ‘you’ and ‘me.’ There is only ‘I.’
If ‘I’ is the only Truth, then it is not possible for me to hate you without hating me. It is not possible for me to hurt you without hurting me.
And it is not possible for me to love you without loving me.
Today I will listen to the world around me for a sound sweet enough to remind me to wake up.
