25 Nov The Urgency of Our Spiritual Work – November 26 2018

Every day when you wake up in the morning, or go to bed at night, look at yourself and say, ‘where am I, what am I doing? How many falsities are still in my life? Am I really doing my sadhana sincerely?’ People say – I don’t have time. We have time for everything else. The fact is that urgency for sadhana has not arrived.
What is my life about? Why am I here? Is it simply about survival? Is it about achieving more and more and more? More money more power more recognition more approval more sex more stuff more love?
Sadhana is any spiritual exercise that moves one in the direction of their ultimate goal, their ultimate expression of Self. Toward enlightenment.
We can do sadhana with every breath. With every thought we can align ourselves with the divine. We can choose to attend to others, rather than to our small self. We can present ourselves to be of service rather than to try to get for ourselves.
This is why we are here, in this world. When will be begin to be about our true work?
Today I will dedicate myself to recognizing the world, and myself, as the divine; and I will ask for guidance in each moment that I be shown how I may be Self, giving to Self; how I may choose to give, rather than to take; how I may allow myself to be as large and loving and compassionate as Spirit would have me be, rather than to fall into my smallness as ego would have me do.
