01 Jun We Cannot Hate Our Way to Love – June 2 2020
We cannot kill our way to peace. We cannot hate our way to love.
We must look past the voices of division in our own minds, as well as in our communities. Each of us must find our own way through this crisis, but then find the way to do it together. Each of us must find our own way to bring love to the collective. Each of us must find the place, the moments, the situations, where we, ourselves, might bring that love. Each of us must determine how loud our voice must be in expressing that love, how much anger it can bear, and how much vulnerability is required.
Spiritual truths are truths because they don’t change from one situation to another. Regardless of how much we may be tempted or pushed to return hate with hate, there is no universe in which that can help.
There is no situation that will not be uplifted by the offering of love; and since there is only one thing in this universe, and I am that one thing, then that love must be offered by me.
Imagine a love that is big enough to encompass even this much hate.
