What a Comfort Love Brings to the Heart – November 2 2018

Love is the sweet expression of life, it is the supreme content of life. Love is the force of life, powerful and sublime. The flower of life blooms in love and radiates love all around it.

Life expresses itself through love. The stream of life is a wave on the ocean of love, and life is expressed in the waves of love, and the ocean of love flows in the waves of life.

What a comfort love brings to the heart.
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, LOVE and GOD

Living a spiritual life at times is fraught with all sorts of challenges. There are those days it seems nearly impossible to disassociate ourselves from the screaming needs of our ego. There are times when all of life might appear gray and pointless and it seems that all we can do is just get through another day; and times when the last thing we might feel like doing is to give ourselves to the world, to others, to a higher purpose and service of a greater whole that spiritual work requires.

At those times, what we need is simply a point of view to borrow from someone who is seeing life more clearly. At those times, even to introduce to our inner dialogue the words of someone further along the path can have the most profound impact. Opening ourselves to something other than our habit of negative thought changes us, however incrementally, each time, each time, each time. Each time we choose the higher, each time we choose the more whole, each time we choose the direction of life, rather than the direction of negation, there is a subtle shift within.

For this (and for much more) we are given masters, such as Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who are willing to express that which is divine in them, and offer it to us that we may be reminded of that which is divine in us.

And for this we can be grateful.

Today I will be grateful there is someone to remind me of the power of love. I will take this reminder of love and offer it to the world around me, to the people around me, and to myself.
